Jean Cleary-Coyne established Bakes by Jean in 2015 with a focus on creating irresistibly pretty and elegant cakes that are not only visually stunning but taste amazing.
Jean’s passion started at the age of three making sponge cakes and apple tarts with her mum in their kitchen in Ireland where she developed her natural love for baking. Little did she know at the time where her mum’s collection of recipes would take her. In 1997 Jean moved to London where she worked as a Pastry Chef in Harrods, Kinghtsbridge, and in 2000 she travelled the world. She has been living in Melbourne since 2005 and has travelled to Abu Dhabi and Doha to help cater for Royal weddings.
Jean’s feminine approach to cake design and eye for detail helps her to create a bespoke cake unique to each event. Bakes by Jean has grown to become a specialised cakery that prides itself in custom design cakes and hand crafted sweets.
